DUEL IN THE DESERT COUNTDOWN FACT: The Wildcat defense recorded 2 safeties in a 28-18 win against ASU in 1982, spoiling the Sun Devils bid for the Rose Bowl.

There are only 2 days remaining until the Arizona State Sun Devils and the Arizona Wildcats play each other in the annual Duel in the Desert on Saturday! FOX Sports Arizona's live coverage from Tucson begins at 5:30 PM.


THE DUEL IN THE DESERT THIS SATURDAY ON FOX SPORTS ARIZONA: It's the biggest football game in the state of Arizona every year, one of the nation's fiercest rivalries and now FOX Sports Arizona will once again televise the 'Duel in the Desert' matchup. FOX Sports Arizona will offer our unmatched regional coverage of the 2008 edition of the game from Arizona Stadium in Tucson on Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the 'Duel in the Desert Pre-Game Show, Presented by Xbox'.

Each team's perspective will be covered as we will have reporters on both teams sidelines as Dave Sitton and Lincon Kennedy call the game from the booth. Immediately following the game, fans can stick around for the 'Duel in the Desert Post-Game Show, Presented by Xbox' for all the post-game interviews, highlights, analysis and bragging rights that will only be available on FOX Sports Arizona. The pre-game and post-game shows will be hosted by Brad Steinke with former UA lineman Glenn Parker and former ASU lineman Juan Roque serving as analysts.


FOX SPORTS ARIZONA ADDS 10 MORE COYOTES HD TELECASTS: Fox Sports Arizona has added an additional 10 High Definition telecasts to its 2008-09 Phoenix Coyotes schedule and will now televise 20 Coyotes games in HD this season, a 100% increase over the number of Coyotes HD games it offered last year.

Fans can look forward to seeing the Coyotes take on some of the biggest stars of the game with the best teams in HD, including the Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, Dallas Stars and San Jose Sharks. For all HD telecasts from Jobing.com Arena, the Qwest Coyotes Live pre-game and post-game shows will be offered in HD as well.

COYOTES KIDKASTER: Do you have -- or know -- an outgoing and personable kid between the ages of 8-14 who has always wanted to appear on television and announce a live sporting event?

After a tremendous debut during the Arizona Diamondbacks season, Fox Sports Arizona and Sanderson Ford have partnered once again and will bring the "Kidkaster" promotion to the sport of hockey and the Phoenix Coyotes. Every month during the 2008-09 season, one child will get the opportunity to join Dave Strader and Darren Pang in the Fox Sports Arizona booth and announce a portion of the second period. The aspiring television announcer will also win four tickets to the game and get the chance to tour the Fox Sports Arizona production truck and food/drink at the game as well. Kids are asked to submit an essay on why they would make they best Kidkaster and the best essay will determine who the monthly winner will be.

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES: Fox Sports Arizona is partnering with Farmers Insurance to recognize outstanding high school student-athletes who make a difference on the athletic field, in the classroom and in the communities they represent.

Throughout the 2008-09 school year, a student-athlete enrolled in an Arizona high school will be recognized monthly with the 'Farmers Student Athlete Award' for his/her outstanding achievements based on their performance on and off the field. Each chosen student will then be recognized during Fox Sports Arizona programming and with a visit to his/her school by a network personality and Farmers Insurance representative to present the award. Additionally, students will be awarded a plaque to commemorate their achievement. Nomination forms and information packets have been sent to Arizona high school's athletic directors or principals. JOIN FOX SPORTS ARIZONA SUNDAY NIGHT AT THE FOX SPORTS GRILL IN SCOTTSDALE: Every Sunday night during the NFL and NCAA footballs seasons, Fox Sports Arizona offers the best hour of local programming with its Cardinals Live, Presented by Farmers Insurance and Pac-10 Football Wrap-Up. Done live from the Fox Sports Grill in Scottsdale, the half-hour shows begin at 9:30 p.m.

Cardinals Live, Presented by Farmers Insurance starts off the hour with a complete breakdown of the Cardinals game from earlier in the day. Jody Jackson and Glenn Parker host and when schedules allow, they are joined live on set by a Cardinals player or coach. Then at 10:00 p.m., Pac-10 Football Wrap-Up follows with in-depth analysis, highlights and post-game news from the previous day's games around the league, while also placing a major emphasis on Arizona and Arizona State as well. The show is hosted by Mark McClune & Glenn Parker.

Fans are invited to come out and be part of the live studio audience. Cardinals autographed memorabilia is given away at the end of the Cardinals show and ASU or UA football tickets are raffled off following the Pac-10 show. In addition, the Fox Sports Grill offers Miller drink specials and half-price appetizers during both shows as well, so we will see you there!


FOX SPORTS ARIZONA ON DEMAND NOW AVAILABLE TO COX DIGITAL CUSTOMERS: Set to deliver a wide selection of Fox Sports Arizona programming, "Fox Sports Arizona On Demand" is available now and at no additional cost to Cox digital cable customers in Arizona. The new programming option will feature locally produced shows related to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Coyotes, University of Arizona and Arizona State University. Programs currently available include various "In My Own Words" profiles, episodes of "The Eric Byrnes Show", "Sun Devil Rewind", "Wildcat Rewind", the Sun Devil and Wilcat football previews and "Spotlight: Snakes Alive".
