BONN, Germany (AP) - The head of the German football federation says the national team's friendly against Chile on Saturday has been called off following the death of goalkeeper Robert Enke.

Theo Zwanziger says the players need time to come to terms with the death of Enke. The Hannover goalkeeper threw himself in front of a train Tuesday.

Zwanziger says the Chilean football federation expressed understanding Wednesday. Germany and Chile were due to play in Cologne.
