Christian Miles
As a television commentator Christian Miles has been a presence in the world of soccer television for nearly a decade.

Born and raised in Oregon, Christian has been surrounded by the beautiful game since he was a young boy playing at various — albeit mediocre — levels in the city of Portland. After graduating from Portland State University in 1996, Christian's passion for the game rekindled after several long stays overseas in Europe.

Upon returning to the States, a production position was in the offing in Los Angeles at the newly-launched international sports network Fox Sports World. Two years later, opportunity came in the form of a writer position for The English Premier League on FOX Sports Net, hosted by Lionel Bienvenu. Eventually becoming head writer and associate producer, Christian helped shape the program into a sports cult phenomenon that enjoyed immense success from the avid viewing public.

Late in 1999, with the changing spirit of the impending millennium, Christian's future was cemented going behind the microphone for FOX's coverage of the 2000 U.S Men's Olympic-qualifying tournament.

More on air work ensued, and Miles was soon regularly commentating on The English Premier League, The Dutch Eredivisie, German Bundesliga, France Ligue Une as well as South American leagues and international play. In 2005, Los Angeles-based FOX Sports Net West named Christian the official play-by-play announcer for the first foreign-owned sports franchise in the United States, Chivas USA of Major League Soccer.

That same year Fox Sports World morphed into Fox Soccer Channel, where today Christian provides live match commentary, co-hosts a number of live studio shows and serves as sideline reporter during MLS Saturday on FSC broadcasts. Alongside Keith Costigan, he co-hosts the only U.S.-based preview show for the Barclays Premier League — Fox Soccer Match Day — as well as Super Sunday +, which recaps all the action from England, MLS and around the world. Christian also continues to enjoy commentating on Italian Serie A and Barclays English Premier League broadcasts in addition to other tournaments and international matches.

He's a great admirer of Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry and Roberto Baggio. His favorite soccer book is "The Miracle of Castel Di Sangro" by Joe McGuinness and his favorite soccer movie is Victory!

When not preoccupied with soccer, Christian enjoys traveling, skiing, basketball, Japanese cuisine and reading.
