Both fixture lists include a run of two games in three days for Rangers, which would have to play the Scottish Cup final two days after its final league game if it advances against Fiorentina.
"This has been an exceptionally challenging season in terms of fixturing," SPL company secretary Iain Blair said. "The combination of a number of diverse circumstances has produced unparalleled scheduling problems."
If Rangers misses out on the UEFA Cup final, it will play St. Mirren on May 13 and Motherwell on May 15, with the season ending on schedule on May 18 against Aberdeen.
The other scenario sees Rangers playing Motherwell on May 17, St. Mirren on May 20 and Aberdeen on May 22.
Rangers plays Queen of the South in the Scottish Cup final on May 24.
The other matches involving top-six sides would also be played on May 22 to ensure the season finishes at the same time for each club.
