Preview: Toronto FC vs. New York
Major League Soccer
Angel missed Sunday's 2-0 win over San Jose after being diagnosed with spondylosis, a degenerative inflammatory arthritis of the lower back. The injury is not considered serious, though, and Angel is expected to be back for this game after receiving a cortisone shot.
Last season, Angel led the Red Bulls (2-1-1) in scoring and was second in MLS with 19 goals. He has just one assist in two games this season, but scored three goals in as many games versus Toronto (3-2-0) last year.
With Angel missing his second game of the season Sunday, Mike Magee provided a spark for New York.
Magee came off the bench and broke a scoreless tie in the 79th minute on a penalty kick - a shot Angel usually takes. It was Magee's first goal since July 22, 2006, as he played in only seven games last season due to two separate knee injuries.
"It has been a long road for me with a lot of ups and downs," Magee told the team's official Web site. "To finally get a goal, it makes all the rehab and time spent on the bicycle worth it."
On Sunday, Jozy Altidore scored his second goal of the season in the closing seconds of added time. He had two goals in three games versus Toronto last year.
Red Bulls goalkeeper Jon Conway made two saves Sunday for his second shutout of the season.
New York went 2-1-0 against Toronto in 2007 with Conway winning each of his starts.
Toronto defeated Kansas City 2-0 on Saturday and has won three straight for the first time in franchise history.
Toronto, which went only 6-17-7 in its inaugural season last year, moved above .500 for the first time. Amado Guevara scored both goals Saturday for TFC, which has outscored its opponents 6-2 during the win streak after getting outscored 6-1 in losing its first two games.

"The good thing is that the team is winning," Guevara told Toronto's official Web site. "The fact that I scored the two goals, it's something that is a blessing for me to score, but the key here is to help the team win."
Guevara's goals were his first since being acquired on April 9. He was with Chivas USA for only four games last season after four sensational seasons with New York. The Honduran international was named MLS MVP in 2004, and was voted team MVP in 2003 and '04.
Toronto's Greg Sutton, who has been in goal for each game of the winning streak, made three saves Saturday for his second consecutive shutout.
Toronto, in the midst of a five-game homestand, has won its first two games at BMO Field this season. It split its two home games versus New York in 2007.
