Darren Fletcher insists Manchester United are out for revenge after the 'battle of the Bridge' and last year's FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea.

Avram Grant's side beat United in a tempestuous league encounter at Stamford Bridge last month but the Scottish midfielder believes United are well placed to pip the Londoners to the title on Sunday and then ruin their Champions League dreams in Moscow.

Fletcher said: "We owe Chelsea one. We lost the FA Cup final and then lost the league game the other day, though we managed to win at Old Trafford.

"They have been very close games and they are two fairly evenly-matched teams.

"Chelsea are a powerful side so we will have to match them in that respect but we are looking forward to the game.

"If we can win the league it will give us great momentum to take into the Champions League final. Pipping Chelsea to the league and winning it for the second year in a row would give us great confidence."

United face Wigan at the JJB Stadium on Sunday, on a pitch labelled "a disgrace" by Arsene Wenger after Arsenal drew 0-0 there.

United need a win to be sure of the title and Fletcher admits the playing surface will be a factor but is confident it can be overcome.

He added: "Wigan is not going to be an easy game. A lot has been spoken about the pitch and obviously it doesn't suit our style of play.

"But these are things you come up against. You play away from home on dry pitches that have not been cut, and they are cutting the grass after the game.

"There's all sorts of things go on away from home and teams are not going to make it easy for you.

"But we have been in these situations before and the dressing room is full of players that have experience of it and have come through it."

Nemanja Vidic should return for the last league game of the season after suffering concussion and there is speculation that Wayne Rooney could be on the bench for United.
