Aquilani hails final day

Alberto Aquilani has called on the whole of Italy to enjoy the final day of the season.

A point separates leaders Inter from second-placed AS Roma with just 90 minutes to decide the destination of this season's title.

The Giallorossi midfielder said: "There is ninety minutes to decide everything. It's such a good end to the season that every Italian should be enjoying it."

The 23-year-old maintained that coach Luciano Spalletti's side can still wrestle the title away from the Nerazzurri and claimed: "We knew we were equal to anyone after our draw with Inter at the San Siro.

"We have come so far and we cannot think of throwing it away now so we will be going to Catania to win and hope that Inter don't do the same at Parma."

The Italy international has timed his return to form to perfection after missing over two months of the early part of the season with a thigh injury and could yet play his way into the Azzurri squad for Euro 2008.

Buffon backs AS Roma

Gianluigi Buffon believes that AS Roma have been the most entertaining side in Italy this season.

The Juventus goalkeeper would not be drawn on whether he would prefer leaders Inter or the Giallorossi to win the title and diplomatically claimed that both sides would be worthy champions.

The 30-year-old said: "Whatever the final outcome it will be a fair one because both sides are excellent but I feel [AS] Roma have played the best football.

The World Cup winner will be taking his place in the Italy side for Euro 2008 and has urged Azzurri coach Roberto Donadoni to include Bianconeri team-mate Alessandro Del Piero who has been in sparkling form at club level all season.

He said: "I don't want to pick coach Roberto Donadoni's team or tell him what do but there is no doubt that Alex has been playing well."

The former Parma goal-stopper has been plagued by a back problem for most of the second half of the campaign but claimed that it would not affect his participation in the tournament in Austria and Switzerland in June.

He added: "We have managed to sort the problem out and I am now feeling 100 per cent for the competition."

Already assured of third spot, the Turin side end their domestic campaign on Saturday with a trip to Sampdoria.

Ibra back in training

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could play some part in Inter's bid to lift the title on Sunday at Parma.

The striker has been out of action for the last five games with a knee problem.

However, he took part in Tuesday afternoon's training session following his return from his native Sweden where the 26-year-old had been receiving treatment.

Certainly the absence of this season's club top goalscorer has hindered the Nerazzurri's progress towards the title as coach Roberto Mancini's side have stumbled in the home stretch.

There has been speculation that the former Ajax and Juventus frontman may move on for pastures new at the end of the campaign but he said: "I am happy at Inter and that's where my future will be."

Seedorf finds AC Milan fault

Clarence Seedorf has admitted that AC Milan have only themselves to blame if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

The Rossoneri had leapt ahead of Fiorentina into fourth place after their impressive win over Inter in the derby on Game Day 36 but then went and undid all their good work by losing at Napoli on Sunday.

The midfielder voiced his disappointment when he said: "We had our destiny in our own hands — we could have secured fourth place, but we didn't do that."

Carlo Ancelotti's side find themselves two points off the pace and having to rely on the Viola slipping up at Torino while Milan must defeat Udinese to stand any chance of finishing fourth.

The coach added: "We have made it difficult for ourselves but we have to win against Udinese now to put pressure on Fiorentina."

In the meantime, Seedorf has reportedly asked to be withdrawn from the Holland squad for the upcoming Euro 2008 according to coach Marco Van Basten.
