New Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari claims the Ivory Coast international is still "200 percent in his plans", but it has been suggested the powerful forward is keen to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Barcelona, AC Milan and Internazionale Milan are all thought to be keen on securing Drogba's services, but the Marseille supporters have launched an audacious bid to bring the striker back to the Stade Velodrome.
The fans behind the initiative, who had, on Sunday, managed to raise the appeal to $1.5million, admit they do not realistically expect to raise the money needed to purchase Drogba, but insist the project is more aimed at drawing Diouf's attention towards the fans' wishes.
"I'm surprised and amused. It shows the true passion of our supporters," Diouf said.
However, he joked that even if the fans could raise the money for the transfer, that alone would not be enough.
He added: "I know what Drogba earns at Chelsea!"
