Francesco Totti has revealed that he would be prepared to consider a return to the Italy national team.

Totti retired from international football last year, saying in a statement that his body could no longer fully withstand the rigours of playing for a club and his country at the same time.

But the return of Marcello Lippi to the Italy national team has tempted the Roma skipper - who was part of Lippi's 2006 World Cup winning squad - to consider coming out of retirement.

"If I'm well and I don't have problems, it will be possible to address this issue in six months or a year," Totti, who missed the end of last season with a knee injury, told reporters in Italy.
