Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho has fallen out of favour with the Italian media after he bunked out on a post match press conference.

The former Chelsea boss sent his number two, Beppe Baresi, to deal with the media following Inter's 1-0 victory over Lecce.

A defensive Baresi said: "We don't want to offend anyone, we're doing a bit of job sharing. To become the best assistant coach in the world I also have to get some experience in front of the TV cameras."

Lecce coach Mario Beretta was critical of the Portuguese's no-show, saying: "I'm not sure it's a choice that's offended anyone. I don't want to teach anything to anyone but maybe he should show a little respect to the fans, journalists, coach and players of Lecce.

"Every country has its customs. I also get my coaches to do interviews during the week but the match-day is a bit different."

Hey Lazy....what's to hate? You probably haven't watched Inter play anytime in the last 3 years. If nothing else, they certainly aren't boring. And the skill that Ibra shows, when controlling the ball outdoes anyone playing in the EPL. No one comes close.

lusotanian said "Everything Mourinho does is calculated, I'm sure he has a reason for pissing off the Italian press."<br /><br />Damn right, you know he already has the respect of his players and after this, they will fight for him even more. He is a master motivator, and while he was probably just trying to give his assistant a little time in the limelight(classy move) it in the end, just helped to motivate his team before the big derby game against AC. Trust me, Inter will win this weekend. Hail Jose!<br />I do hate Italian football though.

I just saw an interview with Ancelotti where he says once he retires, Mourinho would be one the coaches he would follow closely. I think he's envious. Now HE'S the voyeur!

You know why the Italian press wants to see Mourinho at the press conference? Not because of the matter of respect nor he is the manager but they want to exploit every single little thing the guy says and sell their papers.<br /><br />When Mourinho talks, people talk back. When Mouirnho's quiete, people continue to talk. Monaco (Who?) he took a quote from Mourinho when Mourinho was with THE ****ING FC PORTO ( ya that was 4, 5 years ago) and critized the guy. <br /><br />What do Ranieri, Gigli, and Baretta (again who?) have in common? They all have accused Mourinho "disrespect". I'm pretty sure in their career, they had a couple times that they were not available for the ****ing press.<br /><br />And the talk about Mourinho is provokative needs to stop really. So far he is anything but provocative.<br /><br />Remember how Ancelotti said that Mourinho wasn't good enough to reach professional level as a footballer? Remember how Raneiri said how he doesn't have to prove himself (in the pre season after a losing 3-0 to Hamburg ) like Mourinho? Who is the provokative one I might ask?<br /><br />Forza Inter!!!

Everything Mourinho does is calculated, I'm sure he has a reason for pissing off the Italian press. I'm sure everything they write about him from this point on will only motivate him to win even further. This way he can further piss of the bunch of little girls the Italian's call the press. He didn't in England with Steve Clarke and the press their din't bitch as much. Isn't there some porno queen senator in Italy that the press can cover instead...

It is not "respect" which determines how long someone lasts in this business... More often that not, it is "results" one achieves that determine longevity, but even that is no longer guaranteed. The only sure thing you have done now, Viva, is show how much you personally hate Mourinho! The rest of your statement is redundant, and has no bearing at all in determining what will or will not happen to Mourinho!

Mourinhi isnt going to last in Italy because he has no respect for anyone but himself anf it will hurt him in the end. He thinks hes god and by these comments you all do to. Stop blowin him guys hes just another coach.

"the media, everywhere, is one big fickle p/rostitute" (*w.h.o.r.e* is the word that was censored)

He did not show up for one interview, and he "is in trouble with the press"?<br /><br />How serious can such a charge be? Isn't this one of those reports that is deliberately--and frivolously--exaggerated just to grab attention?<br /><br />Also just dig the irony: Mourinho grabs the headlines simply by not showing up for an interview... So what is going to happen when he actually decides that he wants the press to pay attention? Also if "trouble" is getting (bad) media attention even when one is specifically trying to avoid it, that makes the Italian press seem very obnoxious, intrusive, and also rather invasive (**** customs... Even the manager of Inter is entitled to some privacy when he wants it, regardless of what the Italian press, or any press might think they are entitled to)!<br /><br />Either way, I wouldn't worry about a thing if I were Jose... <br /><br />Why? Because, nothing personal here, but "etiquette" or not, the media everywhere is basically one big fickle, w/hore... Accordingly I fully expect Mourinho to become a media darling again the minute he flashes a couple of smiles at the next reporters who come calling...<br /><br />I think you should expect that too... Which is why this article itself must be taken with a big grain of salt, and not taken too seriously...

Youassume<br />I remember watching Guiseppe Baresi play. You're right, that dude was an awesome player. Can't wait for Sunday!

I think I must be still hungover, "desprespect" I made a new word, not sure of the definition yet!
