Chesterfield avoided another FA Cup exit when they beat non-League neighbours Mansfield 3-1 in a tie that turned on a goalkeeping blunder.
The first-round match was finely balanced until Mansfield keeper Paddy Gamble allowed a 30-yard free-kick from Jamie Winter to bounce off his hands and into the top-left corner in the 32nd minute.Mansfield should have been in front by then but on-loan Nottingham Forest striker Emile Sinclair failed to turn in Nathan Arnold's 12th-minute cross.
Jamie Ward doubled Chesterfield's lead with his 11th goal of the season from a Lloyd Kerry cross six minutes into the second half and the tie was over when Winter struck again.
The midfielder beat Gamble from distance for a second time with a 25-yard shot in the 57th minute to wrap up Chesterfield's first home win in the FA Cup for 11 years.
There was some consolation for the Blue Square Premier outfit 12 minutes from time when Arnold cut in from the left and found the bottom-right corner with a 25-yard shot.
