Rangers honoring West in July 6 game

The club will host the residents and first responders from West – which was devastated by an April 17 explosion – with a pre-game picnic and on-field ceremonies. The club expects nearly 1,000 people from West for the game.
The Rangers will wear a Support West patch on the right sleeve of their jerseys in that game. The jerseys will be raffled with tickets being sold at Rangers Ballpark on July 5 and July 6. The money raised will go the relief efforts.
West mayor Tommy Muska will throw out the first pitch on July 6 with other residents of West handling the National Anthem and color guard duties. The Czech Dance Group will perform before the game. There will also be a pre-game moment of silence for the 15 people who were killed in the explosion.
Following the accident, the club collected essential items from fans and gift cards. In addition, approximately $40,000 in cash donations was raised for the relief efforts.
