Texans sign Heisman finalist and former K-State QB Klein

The Texans signed Klein, a Colorado native, as a free agent and it is unclear what their plans for him are. At Kansas State, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Klein was most effective as a runner, his patience and bruising running style leading the Wildcats to the brink of national title contention.
Klein does not project as an NFL quarterback. He began his college career at wide receiver, and chances are good the Texans will try to find a way to use him at receiver or tight end.
The Texans already have three quarterbacks on the roster, with third-year man T.J. Yates backing up starter Matt Schaub, and former University of Houston quarterback Case Keenum at No. 3. They also brought in veteran Stephen McGee this offseason.
