SX: Villopoto Wins In Front Of Hometown Seattle Crowd

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto crushed the competition Saturday night in Seattle, Wash., winning by a margin of 12.14 seconds in front of a hometown crowd of 53,927 fans.

Villopoto’s night started out rocky when he was forced to transfer out of the second 450SX semi-final race, but it only went uphill from there. The Seattle-area native nailed the holeshot in the main event and then led all 20 laps to claim his fifth Monster Energy Supercross victory of 2014.

Cole Seely needed a solid performance to keep his Western Regional 250SX Class title hopes alive, and he delivered Saturday night in front of 53,927 fans at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Wash.

The Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil Honda rider passed Dean Wilson on the opening lap of the 250SX Class main event and remained unchallenged for the remainder of the 15-lap race, ultimately earning his second win of the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross season.

Ryan Villopoto overcame adversity Saturday night in Houston, Texas to earn his fourth Monster Energy Supercross win of the season.

After crashing several times in practice and again in his heat, Villopoto advanced out of Semi 2 and went on to dominate the 20-lap 450SX Main Event. The three-time reigning champ moved into the lead on the opening lap and was unchallenged for the remainder of the race, ultimately beating Justin Barcia by 13.7 seconds.

Jason Anderson made a flawless return to action Saturday night, claiming his fourth Monster Energy Supercross win of 2014 as the Western Regional 250SX Class Championship resumed in Houston, Texas.

The Rockstar Energy KTM rider jumped out to an early lead, picked his way through lapped riders and held off a hard-charging Dean Wilson to pick up the victory in front of 49,759 fans inside NRG Stadium.

James Stewart earned his third straight Monster Energy Supercross victory Saturday night in front of a record-breaking 60,213 fans at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Mo.

The Yoshimura Suzuki star passed three-time series champion Ryan Villopoto with 10 laps to go and pulled away to score his fifth win of the season and 50th overall. Stewart joins Jeremy McGrath – the all-time wins leader at 72 – as the only competitors in history to achieve at least 50 career victories.
