Whenever a noted collector puts some of his cars on the block, it’s big news in the vintage-car community.

At the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in March, a number of high-end cars were sold out of the collection of the late Malcolm Pray, who died last summer. Tops on the list was a stunning Figoni et Falaschi-bodied 1937 Delahaye 135 Competition Court Torpedo Roadster known as “Malcolm’s French Mistress,” which sold for a jaw-dropping $6.6 million, fully 10 percent above the high estimate.

But now comes news that makes the Pray collection look like a mere drop in the bucket.

One of the star cars of the show was a totally tricked out 2013 Ford Mustang, which was used in the actual making of the “Need For Speed” movie and is just like the one used in the video game of the same name. The high-performance custom Mustang sold for $300,000 to Dave Flynn of the Flynn Automotive Group in Youngstown, Ohio. All of the proceeds went to benefit the Henry Ford Health System.

Today, the focus is on the fun, the funky and the affordable collector cars, the kinds of rides that are perfect for weekend jaunts rather than some of the uber-high-dollar cars that end up as museum pieces.

With that in mind, here are Sunday’s Five To Watch cars from Palm Beach:

A wonderful, period-correct cruiser, this 1954 Oldsmobile Holiday 88 Custom roadster evokes the legendary customizer Gene Winfield. This Olds is chopped, channeled, shaved, decked, frenched and about everything else you can do.
