Esteban Gutierrez will remain with Sauber for the 2014 Formula 1 season, the team has confirmed.

The 22-year-old Mexican will partner with Adrian Sutil, whose signing was confirmed earlier this week.

The announcement comes just days after FOXSports.com’s Adam Cooper reported the team had a “change of heart” and wanted to retain Gutierrez.

After the exciting 2013 season and before the engines roar again in 2014, the riders of all three MotoGP categories are approaching their well-deserved Christmas holidays in very different ways.

2013 MotoGP Champion Marc Marquez, as every year, will spend the holidays surrounded by his family in his native Cervera in Spain, trying to rest between his multiple off-track events with his brother, training partner and Moto3 rider Alex Marquez.

Meet the Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4.

It is the newest supercar out of the Lamborghini stable and serves as the long-awaited replacement to the iconic Gallardo, a car that was born 10 years ago and has been fundamental to Lamborghini’s growth and success over the years.

The Huracán borrows heavily from those who have come before it, with the exterior resembling that of the Aventador and its powertrain similar to the Gallardo.

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest announced Friday the list of automatic invitations for next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Thirteen cars from 12 teams have been awarded guaranteed entries, based on their success in the American, European or Asian Le Mans Series, as well as the 90th anniversary of the twice-around-the-clock French endurance classic.

Champions in the FIA World Endurance Championship, however, have not received auto invites, as full-season status in the series includes a Le Mans entry.

A new, environmentally friendly auto racing series just got even greener.

Boston Celtics managing partner Wyc Grousbeck and a dozen of his co-owners in the NBA franchise have invested $21 million into Formula E, an all-electric circuit that has already attracted celebrities with environmental interests such as actor Leonardo DiCaprio and billionaire Richard Branson. The series is scheduled to debut in Beijing in September and continue on the streets from Miami to Monaco in a 10-race, Formula One-style championship.
