Toyota will start Saturday’s Six Hours of Bahrain from the pole after a sweep of the front row in qualifying for the eighth and final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship season.
Porsche announced Friday that it has renewed its factory GTE-Pro program for next year’s FIA World Endurance Championship.
The German manufacturer, which scored a 1-2 finish in the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, will continue under the Porsche AG Team Manthey banner in a separate program from its new works LMP1 squad that will also take on the WEC in 2014.
Ross Brawn is to leave the Mercedes team on Dec. 31, handing the reins to Toto Wolff and Paddy Lowe.
The team said that the following “an extended period of open discussion between the team’s key stakeholder Ross has chosen to hand over the team leadership to Executive Director (Business) Toto Wolff and Executive Director (Technical) Paddy Lowe.”
