Video: Madman Adrian Cenni Pulls Off First Ever Barrel Roll

Adrian Cenni pulled off the first flat ground to flat ground 360-degree barrel roll this past weekend in front of a live audience at a Baja 1000 pre-race event in Ensenada, Mexico.

“The Wildman” used a specially designed two-part ramp to complete the feat. The first part was a launch ramp that sent the Pro 4 truck airborne, while the second part – only on the left side – initiated the barrel roll.

Mark Webber showed he has lost none of his fight by finishing third in his penultimate Formula 1 start in Austin.

Webber had another bad first corner, dropping to fourth from his second starting spot, but after overtaking Lewis Hamilton he chased Romain Grosjean to the flag.

“I was very happy with how I drove today,” said Webber. “I got a very good start. You want to be on the outside for Turn 1 but Romain was already there. I think I made a very good start from the left-hand side, which is not the easiest here, so we did what we could. Lewis also was on the outside for clean braking, so I had to be a little bit careful with Seb on the inside. And then you’ve got to clear people, and you know when you’ve got to clear people you use tires, you use everything up.

Valtteri Bottas scored his first points in Formula 1 after finishing eighth in the United States Grand Prix.

The Williams driver enjoyed a successful weekend in Austin, making it into Q3 for only the second time this season. Then from ninth on the grid, Bottas made an impressive start and managed his tires to score four World Championship points, moving him ahead of teammate Pastor Maldonado – who only has one point to his name as a result of a 10th-place finish in Hungary.

Romain Grosjean continued his run of strong results with a superb second in Austin, having got ahead of Mark Webber at the start and survived intense pressure from the Australian in the closing laps.

It was Grosjean’s fourth podium in five races, but his first second place of the season.

“I think the strategy was pretty clear,” he said of his efforts to stay in front. “We were copying what Mark was doing. When he was pitting for hard tires, we pitted for hard tires, if he was pitting for prime or option. Then in the race I was just trying to make as much gap as I could before the DRS zone, so turns eight and nine are pretty hard to follow another car.

Sebastian Vettel has set a lot of records over his Formula 1 career, and in Austin today he achieved another landmark when he beat Michael Schumacher’s record to become the first man to win eight straight races in a single season.

Alberto Ascari won nine times over 1952-’53, but nobody had won more than seven in a single season.

“I think it’s one of those records that you never expect to be beaten, so it’s very difficult to find the right words,” said Vettel. “I didn’t really answer the questions the last couple of days because at the end of the day what makes me jump into the car is not a certain number.
