MotoGP: Marc Marquez Begins 2014 Testing — New Bike In Valencia

On a busy day at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia, 20 riders took to the track on the second day of post-GP testing, with new World Champion Marc Marquez ending the session as the fastest rider.

The Repsol Honda team had not tested on Monday, but Marquez and Dani Pedrosa both had full days on Tuesday comparing the new 2014 Honda with their existing machines and completing nearly 150 laps between them.

Fellow Finn Mika Salo has nominated Heikki Kovalainen as the ideal replacement at Lotus for his surgery-bound countryman Kimi Raikkonen.

The conventional wisdom is that Lotus will simply promote its reserve driver, 2012 GP2 champion Davide Valsecchi, into Raikkonen’s seat for the remaining two grands prix of the season.

Feld Motor Sports and FOX Sports announced Monday a five-year agreement to telecast Feld’s premier motor sports stadium and arena properties Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, Monster Jam, AMSOIL Arenacross and the Monster Energy Cup on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2 beginning in January 2014.
