Marc Marquez has once again failed to wrap up the 2013 MotoGP World Championship, and will now look to capture the title in two weeks time at Valencia.

Marquez needed to outscore eventual race winner Jorge Lorenzo by eight points in Sunday’s Japanese Grand Prix to clinch the title, but the Repsol Honda ace was unable to do so. Instead, Marquez finished second to Lorenzo, decreasing his championship lead to only 13 points with one race remaining in the season.

The 20-year-old struggled to keep pace with fellow Spaniard Lorenzo, and acknowledged that it was better to settle for second rather than crash out while vying for the win.
