IZOD Concluding IndyCar Sponsorship At End Of 2013 Season

IndyCar announced today that IZOD will conclude its sponsorship of the IndyCar Series after the current season.

“We are proud of our partnership with IZOD over the past six years and we’re grateful to PVH Corp., owner of the IZOD brand, for its support, creativity and vision,” said Mark Miles, chief executive officer of Hulman & Co., the parent company of IndyCar. “But circumstances change and now we’re seeking new partnerships with brands looking to align with the fastest, most versatile form of racing.

The early buzz from the sixth-annual Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Collector-Car Auction is that it’s off to a sensational start.

Thursday night at Barrett-Jackson, two cars raised a total of $1.2 million for charity and today the action will only heat up, as the quality of the cars gets better heading into Saturday’s grand finale. FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2 will have a total of eight hours of live coverage Friday from the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

The FIA’s confirmation that the new Concorde Agreement will bring in extra funds has put a focus on how that money will be used by the governing body – and Jean Todt has now agreed to set up a ‘task force’ to that end.

A statement today underlined that the FIA will get more money from the new Concorde Agreement. “This agreement provides the FIA with significantly improved financial means to pursue its regulatory missions and to reflect the enhanced role undertaken by the FIA in the Motor Sport.”

2014 Formula 1 Schedule Released, New Jersey Grand Prix Listed

New Jersey, Korea and Mexico all appear as provisional on the 2014 F1 calendar approved by the World Motor Sport Council today.

As previously reported, New Jersey appears in the middle of an unprecedented triple header with Monaco and Montreal, which the teams regard as totally impractical.

NJ promoter Leo Hindery Jr said in a statement: “The entire Grand Prix of America team is thrilled to join the 2014 FIA calendar and we look forward to bringing world-class Formula One racing to New Jersey.”
