SRT Vipers withdraw from Le Mans

SRT Motorsports will not take part in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Detroit manufacturer has confirmed that it has pulled the two-car factory GTE-Pro effort, ahead of next month’s deadline for the final entry deposits.

Tom Kristensen, who will be going for his record tenth Le Mans 24 hour victory this season, drove from the Le Mans city center to the famous Circuit de la Sarthe, showcasing the new Audi R18 e-tron quattro, which he will be competing in during the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship.

Renault Sport insists that it has got to the bottom of the problems suffered in Australia.

Although three of its cars made the points, the other five Renault powered cars failed to see the flag, albeit for a variety of reasons.

After the brilliant form which saw him win five of the last seven races of last season, Jorge Lorenzo had a disastrous start to his 2014 campaign on Sunday in Qatar.

The 2010 and 2012 MotoGP™ World Champion crashed out of the opening Grand Prix of the year on the first lap, having made a trademark stunning start from fifth on the grid to grab the hole-shot into Turn 1.
