The Spanish GP was the fifth race in a row to see every lap led by a Mercedes. It’s a rare achievement, and it’s worth noting that only on two previous occasions – with McLaren in 1988 and Williams in 1992 – has one team proved utterly dominant. In the case of Williams, that run ended at round six in Monaco, although in 1988 McLaren kept its record up until the eighth race.

However, despite the flying start to the season, Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff remains cautious.

Following the passing of three-time World Champion Jack Brabham, this video has gone viral on YouTube amongst Formula 1 fans, and it’s not hard to see why.

Yet Schmidt made his most impressive four-lap run Sunday morning, when he drove a specially prepared Corvette Stingray around the 2.5-mile oval.

Jorge Lorenzo has dismissed claims that his form slump is because he is not relaxed and enjoying his riding, especially in the shadow of record-breaking fellow Spaniard Marc Marquez.

After finishing a lackluster sixth in Sunday’s French GP, both Marquez and seven-time champion Valentino Rossi reckoned that a lack of enjoyment and too much importance on winning were key issues.

Not surprisingly Lorenzo disagreed.
