MotoGP: FIM Announces Updates To 2014 Race Calendar

The FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix calendar has been updated ahead of the 2014 season.

In comparison with the earlier version of the provisional 2014 calendar, the Grande Prêmio do Brasil has been removed from the schedule and the Gran Premio de Aragón has moved to the weekend of Sept. 26-28.

The 2014 calendar is as follows:

March 23 – Qatar* – Doha/Losail

April 13 – Americas – Austin

The Aspar MotoGP team has unveiled its most international lineup yet at Sepang, with two former World Champions and new Malaysian energy drink DRIVE M7 on board as title sponsor.

With the second test session of the MotoGP preseason due to kick off on Wednesday in Malaysia, the DRIVE M7 Aspar Team took the opportunity to officially unveil its 2014 project at the home of its new title sponsor in a special ceremony.

F1′s potential next F1 chief, Californian and NASCAR team co-owner Gene Haas, will this week travel to Europe.

Foreign language reports said that during coverage of the Daytona 500, FOX Sports revealed that Haas is scheduled to meet with representatives of F1′s governing FIA.

Livio Suppo, team principal for Repsol Honda, has provided an update on Marc Marquez’s race for fitness as the World Champion seeks to return to riding as soon as possible.

The MotoGP title holder suffered a broken right fibula during a dirt track training session in Spain last week and as a result will miss this week’s Sepang test.

Williams has finally confirmed the arrival of Felipe Massa’s long time Ferrari race engineer, Rob Smedley.

He will take up the newly created role of head of vehicle performance.
Williams says that he will “strengthen the trackside team whilst also supporting the development work back at the factory to help bring more performance to the car throughout the season.”
