Fernando Alonso gave the Spanish crowd something to cheer on Sunday when he chased down and passed teammate Kimi Raikkonen to finish sixth, but the result was far below the expectations of both the former champion and his fans.

Alonso, who ran a three-stop strategy, was 87 seconds behind winner Lewis Hamilton at the flag.

Rookie Martin Plowman tweeted a scary image after the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis.

The No. 41 A.J. Foyt Enterprises car may have made it through the opening lap carnage in Indianapolis unscathed, and the Brit was able to drive it home to an 18th place finish. His helmet, however, tells a different story.

INDIANAPOLIS – J.R. Hildebrand has literally come “full circle” at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the driver can’t help but smile when he considers the irony of his return to the Indianapolis 500.

The day after last year’s Indy 500, Hildebrand was fired by Panther Racing team owner John Barnes after crashing on the third lap of the race in Turn 2.

James Hinchcliffe’s tough IndyCar start is getting more clouded.

E.J. Viso replaced the injured Canadian on Sunday in the opening practice for the Indianapolis 500 and it’s still unclear when the popular Hinchcliffe will turn his first laps on the famed 2.5-mile oval.

Lewis Hamilton finally eased into the lead of the 2014 Formula 1 World Championship with his fourth straight victory of the season in Spain.

Hamilton didn’t have it easy, as he had to work hard to stay clear of Nico Rosberg in the closing laps, when the latter was on the more competitive medium tire and Lewis was on the hard. He also wasn’t entirely happy with the balance of car, which led to some terse radio traffic with his engineer.
