BOISE, Idaho (AP) Winston Shepard scored 13 points and San Diego State moved into sole possession of first place in the Mountain West by winning 56-53 at Boise State on Saturday.

The Aztecs (12-6, 5-0 Mountain West) won their fifth straight game and snapped Boise State's 10-game winning streak, which had been the third-longest active streak in the country.

San Diego State held Boise State (13-5, 4-1) to a season-low in scoring.

San Diego State used an 11-2 run to build a 54-44 lead, holding Boise State scoreless for nearly six minutes in the key stretch of the second half. The Aztecs, though, turned the ball over on six of their next eight possessions to allow Boise State to pull within 56-53. Webb's last-second 3-point attempt was off the mark, and the Aztecs hung on.
