Badgers DB Austin Hudson to transfer

Published May. 11, 2015 2:04 p.m. ET

Former three-star recruit Austin Hudson is leaving the Wisconsin Badgers. The Tampa native played in all 14 games for the team last season as a true freshman and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining after sitting next year.

He will go back home and play for USF. He had this to say about why he left:

"I have nothing negative to say," Hudson told BadgerNation. "It was a journey I needed to make to understand where I belong and Wisconsin just wasn't the right fit. Football wise it may have been but in terms of what I idealize, the school itself wasn't the right fit."

Hudson is a good player and a nice get for USF as they look to make some noise with their new 4-2-5 defensive scheme.
