Angels' Trout and Pujols have almost as many home runs as the Braves

After crushing three home runs in the Los Angeles Angels' doubleheader sweep of the Boston Red Sox in Anaheim on Monday, Albert Pujols passed Mike Schmidt on the all-time home run list and began play Tuesday as the AL's leading home run hitter with 29. He's also on quite a pace on a personal level:

Not to be outdone, Pujols' teammate Mike Trout swatted a homer of his own, bringing his 2015 total to 28. Combined, they have hit 57 longballs this season...which, it was pointed out on Twitter on Monday night, is almost more than the Atlanta Braves have collectively:

Had Nick Markakis not hit a two-run blast against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night, the Braves would have exactly the same number of homers as the Angels' dynamic duo!

Let this all be an example of what, exactly, is fueling the Angels' torrid recent play that has propelled them atop the AL West, past the upstart Houston Astros.

A red-hot Albert Pujols and a consistently amazing Mike Trout can do wonders for a club's success...
