Colorado Rockies Fans, Thank You For An Amazing 2016

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 6:46 p.m. ET

It’s the time of year when we think of the things that we’re most thankful for. When it comes to covering the Colorado Rockies, there are some things that jump out to us pretty quickly.

On Thanksgiving Day, we posted the six things we were thankful for about the Rockies. You can read that article here. However, there is one big thing that didn’t make that list. On Christmas Day, we want to acknowledge you, the Colorado Rockies fan base.

This year will go down as the most successful in the history of Rox Pile. At no other time in our site’s history have we had as many people read as many stories as were read in 2016. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for that. Thank you for reading our news articles and our predictions for what might happen with the Rockies. We hit some dead on … and missed on some others as well. Hey, I’m the guy who said the Rockies should re-sign Mark Reynolds. Instead, they shocked the world by inking Ian Desmond to be their first baseman.

I am also extremely thankful for the team who works hard to bring you the stories you’ve devoured this season. Nolan, Tim, Tyler, Michelle, Trevor, Ben and so many others care about the Rockies just as much as you do and I’m glad to have them as a part of the crew this past season. Many of them will be sharing their passion with you in 2017 as well.

There has been a lot written about the opportunities for an amazing season ahead for the Rockies. I can tell you that I am counting the days until spring training opens. There are still a lot of questions for Colorado to answer, but there are plenty of reasons for optimism.

It’s going to be an amazing season and I am excited for what lies ahead for the Rockies. Thanks again for being with us on the journey in 2016. We can’t wait to see what 2017 will bring.
