Diamondbacks pitcher Tyler Clippard falls off the mound on first pitch

Diamondbacks pitcher Tyler Clippard entered a 3-2 game in the bottom of the eighth inning Sunday in Chicago, and his first attempt at a pitch didn't go as smoothly as he would have hoped. Clippard's left cleat dug in the dirt during his delivery, sending his 6-foot-3 frame tumbling forward.

Strangely enough, this is the second time a pitcher has nearly wiped out in the last 24 hours. On Saturday night in San Diego, Fernando Rodney lost his balance and fell off the mound, which allowed runners to advance on a balk.
