Full Count: Jose Bautista's chances of scoring a huge deal are diminishing

Jose Bautista's chances of scoring a huge contract in free agency were diminishing even before he went on the disabled list this week, MLB on FOX insider Ken Rosenthal reports.

The All-Star right fielder left Thursday's 13-2 win to get X-rays on his left big toe after he ran into the outfield fence trying to chase down a fly ball in the bottom of the seventh inning. The team ordered an MRI for Friday and placed him on the 15-day DL Friday afternoon.

Bautista, 35, is hitting .230 with 12 home runs and 41 RBI one season after his 40 home runs helped lead the Toronto Blue Jays to the American League Championship Series. Rosenthal says two other Toronto free agents might draw more interest: slugger Edwin Encarnacion, who leads the majors in RBIs (61) and is three years younger than Bautista, and Michael Saunders, who belted three homers Friday and has the highest OPS among major league outfielders (.999).
