It's a Houston thing: Astros' Altuve, Keuchel shoot videos for Texans

With the Houston Astros in the limelight as they continue to battle the Los Angeles Angels and Texas Rangers for the AL West division title, their star is burning a bit brighter than it has in quite some time.

So it makes sense, then, for the Houston Texans to ask two of the Astros' biggest players for a show of support ahead of the NFL season - which starts soon.

As reported by Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the Houston Chronicle, Astros second baseman Jose Altuve filmed a segment for a video expressing support for the Texans on Monday - as did lefty Dallas Keuchel.

For Altuve, this marked the very first opportunity for him to hold and throw a regulation NFL football. As Altuve told Ortiz, he was impressed with its size. He also understands the importance of banding together as Houston sports stars should: “I think I’ve never thrown a football before. I had never thrown a real football, and that was a real football. It was bigger. It felt very nice that they asked. They’re taking us in consideration, and it’s also very important to let them know that I support them. We all support the Texans.”

Of course, this isn't the first instance of a correlation between the Astros and Texans, as star defensive end J.J. Watt makes appearances at Minute Maid Park every now and then.

Ortiz also notes that Astros shortstop Carlos Correa, who recently demonstrated top-notch tackling skills, will visit Texans training camp this week too.
