Mookie Betts lost track of the outs, Farrell wasn't happy

On Sunday, Boston Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. caught a fly ball for the final out of the inning. Or that's what everybody else thought - JBJ threw the ball towards home, not knowing the number of outs. His teammates made fun of him, it was brushed off.

Not this time.

Mookie Betts made the same mistake in Wednesday's game, but it wasn't laughed off. Here's what John Farrell told the Boston Herald:

“There’s no excuse for that. Losing track of the outs in the inning is not something . . . it can’t be accepted.”

Though the Sox are 4-2 in their last six games, the season has been a rough one for the 2013 World Series Champions, who sit seven games back heading into Thursday's games.
