The Pirates have locked up their young outfield. Pittsburgh has agreed on a five-year extension with outfielder Gregory Polanco, FOX Sports MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal confirmed Sunday.

The deal will include two club options and is believed to be in the mid-$30 million range, according to Yahoo Sports. The Pirates already have Andrew McCutchen and Starling Marte signed to six-year deals.

Pittsburgh is betting more of promise than production in Polanco's case. Polanco, 25, hit .256 with nine homers and 52 RBI in 153 games last season for the Pirates.

McCutchen is one of the best players in the game and has an MVP under his belt. Marte stolen at least 30 bases each of the past three seasons and showed some pop last year, hitting 19 homers.
