Saturday was far from any typical day at the ballpark for Pirates outfielder Starling Marte.

Sure, it was another game day -- something he experiences about 162 times a year, but it was what took place during the game that made the day unique.

First, while trying to steal second base (the pitch was fouled off), Marte opted for a head-first slide. And as you can see, that may not have been the best decision.

However, it doesn't appear the slide embarrassed the outfielder, as he was in a good mood later on.
