Bulls' Butler 'not playing' about having Blazers' Plumlee pay fine

Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler knows he is going to be fined after being assessed a technical during Tuesday's 93-88 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. He's just not willing to pay it.

Butler got into an altercation with Blazers big man Mason Plumlee, who appeared to lower his shoulder into Butler while Butler tried to set a screen in the fourth quarter. Butler fell to the ground, then wrapped his legs around Plumlee's feet, causing him to fall. Butler immediately got into Plumlee's face as the two players jawed at each other before both teams pulled them apart.

Plumlee received a flagrant foul while Butler was hit with a technical, which is an automatic $2,500 fine. Butler is intent on getting Plumlee to pay the penalty.

"You know, he thought it was football for a second there,'' Butler told the Chicago Sun-Times. "It's all good, though, man. I almost had to let the Fort Greene Projects out of me, in Brooklyn, you know what I'm saying?''

Butler, who hails from Texas, was reminded that he's not from Brooklyn.

"(Bulls forward) Taj (Gibson) is, though, so I can say I'm from there,'' Butler said jokingly.

Then he returned to a more serious tone.

"Basketball, emotions, that's part of the game,'' Butler said. "Yeah, he cost me $2,500. I'm going to ask him to pay me back, and I'm not playing. I'm going to ask, nicely. Yeah, I'm going to get that.''

Butler has already thought out how he will reach out to Plumlee.

"I'm going to tell my agent to email or something,'' Butler added.

Then he took a shot at the former Duke big man.

"I know it's like MisterDukie@yahoo.com or something.''
