DeAndre Jordan reportedly wants bigger offensive role, four-year deal

Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers reportedly brought along actor/signer Jamie Foxx to help the team retain free-agent center DeAndre Jordan. But it appears Jordan wants more on the court than off it.

Jordan is likely looking for a four-year deal with an opt out after three and bigger role on offense, according to ESPN. The Clippers are the only team that can offer Jordan a fifth year worth $27 million, but it appears that Jordan wants a shorter deal to cash in on the expected increase in future cap space.

The Clippers could offer Jordan a bigger offensive role, but that might affect their offensive efficiency. Jordan, who averaged a league-leading 15 rebounds last season, topped the league in field-goal percentage last season at 71 percent, but most of his attempts come off dunks and put-backs.

Giving Jordan more offensive touches also opens him up to more trips to the free-throw line, which has been his Achilles' heel. He shot 39.7 percent last season and is a career 41.7 percent shooter from the line. Opposing teams have used a "Hack-a-Jordan" strategy, which has halted the Clippers' up-tempo offense at times.

Jordan, 26, is reportedly being pursued by the Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks once free agency kicks off at 12:01 a.m. ET on Wednesday, according to the report.
