NBA free-agency tracker: Get the latest as offseason moves heat up

The Memphis Grizzlies have been Western Conference contenders for several years now, but have yet to make it through the mine field that is the postseason and advance to the NBA Finals. Some would think the answer is to blow things up and start over.

Clearly, those people don't live in Memphis.

"This is a great day for our team," general manager Chris Wallace said in a statement Monday announcing the club re-signed center Marc Gasol to a deal reported to be worth more than $100 million over five years.

The 7-foot-1 Spaniard is coming off the best season of his career, earning a starting spot in the All-Star game. He also became the first Grizzlies player voted to the All-NBA first team.

Gasol averaged 17.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.62 blocks this past season. He set career highs for total points, scoring average, field goals made and attempted. He scored 30 or more points five times, something he did only once through his first six years combined.

Now 30, Gasol has teamed with Zach Randolph to give the Grizzlies a ferocious front line that endeared them to a city hungry for success. With Gasol leading the way, and maturing from a doughy youngster into a chiseled veteran, the Grizzlies have made a franchise-record five straight playoff appearances. They have reached the Western Conference semifinals three times and made a stirring run to the conference finals in 2013.

● (9:38 p.m. ET): The Sacramento Kings signed forwards Luc Mbah a Moute and Omri Casspi.

● (7 p.m. ET): The Chicago Bulls say they have signed forward Mike Dunleavy Jr. and backup guard Aaron Brooks.

MONDAY

● (4:16 p.m. ET): The Los Angeles Clippers re-signed backup guard Austin Rivers and also added reserve center Cole Aldrich. Rivers, the 22-year-old son of coach Doc Rivers, averaged 7.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 41 regular-season games after arriving from Boston in a January trade. He became the first player in NBA history to be coached by his father. Aldrich averaged 5.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in 61 games last season for the Knicks, where he played for two years. The 26-year-old has played with Oklahoma City, Houston and Sacramento.

● (5 p.m. ET): The NBA champion Warriors announced they finalized their deal with veteran guard Leandro Barbosa, signing the 32-year-old guard to a one-year, $2.5 million deal.

SUNDAY

● (9:08 p.m. ET): The Oklahoma City Thunder have matched the offer sheet extended to center Enes Kanter by the Portland Trail Blazers, the Thunder announced. Kanter had received a $70 million maximum contract offer from Portland, Yahoo Sports reports.

● (8:24 p.m. ET): The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to a deal with former No. 1 pick Andrea Bargnani. Bargnani spent the last two seasons with the Knicks. He has struggled with injuries and appeared in just 29 games last season, averaging 14.8 points.

SATURDAY

● The Brooklyn Nets released point guard Deron Williams, the two sides reportedly reaching a buyout agreement on the final two years and $43.3 million remaining on Williams' contract. Williams, a 10-year veteran, is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Mavericks in the $10 million range, according to ESPN.

● (10:30 p.m. ET): Wilson Chandler and the Nuggets have agreed to a four-year, $46 million extension, Yahoo Sports/FOX Sports 1 NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

● (10 p.m. ET): Undrafted Kentucky star Aaron Harrison has agreed to a two-year deal with the Hornets, Wojnarowski reported.

● (6:02 p.m. ET): Dwyane Wade finalized his deal to stay in Miami, and Amar'e Stoudemire is joining the Heat. Wade signed his $20 million, one-year contract Friday to stay with the Heat, that deal getting closed around the same time Stoudemire completed a physical and an interview before signing a one-year deal for around $1.4 million.

● (5:26 p.m. ET): The Memphis Grizzlies have signed first-round draft pick Jarell Martin. The team announced the signing Friday without disclosing terms of the deal.

● (5:24 p.m. ET): The Orlando Magic have signed first-round draft pick Mario Hezonja. General manager Rob Hennigan announced the deal Friday. Terms were not disclosed.

● (9:16 p.m. ET): The NBA salary cap was set Wednesday for next season at $70 million, a higher-than-expected number that paves the way for free agent contracts to be signed.

The league said the cap increased by 11 percent from last season's $63.1 million and the 2015-16 cap will be the highest ever — though it will be shattered next summer. It had been projected to come in closer to $67 million until recently.

● (3:48 p.m. ET): The Phoenix Suns have reached contract agreements with shooting guard Sonny Weems and point guard Ronnie Price, a person with knowledge of the situation told the AP on Wednesday.

JULY 7

● (6:13 p.m. ET): From the Associated Press: Free-agent shooting guard Alan Anderson has agreed to a $4 million, one-year contract with the Washington Wizards that should become official later this week.

● (5:06 p.m. ET): NBA center Marc Gasol has confirmed that he will sign a new five-year contract with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The 30-year-old free agent tells Spanish media he will stay at Memphis, as The Associated Press reported on Monday.

Aminu, who came off the bench for Dallas last season, doubled his scoring in the playoffs (11.2 ppg) and should be a versatile defender for a team that ranked in the bottom third in points allowed and field goal percentage defense.

● (12:11 a.m. ET): The San Antonio Spurs aim to do the same with Kawhi Leonard, Wojnarowski reported, with both sides agreeing to a five-year max extension that could be worth more than $90 million.

● (12:04 a.m. ET): Forward Anthony Davis agreed to a five-year, $145 million max contract extension with the New Orleans Pelicans, a league source told Wojnarowski.
