Rockets reportedly want to pursue Love, Aldridge in free agency

Add the Houston Rockets to the ever-growing list of teams interested in expected free agents Kevin Love and LaMarcus Aldridge.

According to ESPN, the Rockets want in on the potential bidding war for Love, who reportedly will opt out of his deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Aldridge, who reportedly won't re-sign with the Portland Trail Blazers.

In order to create the cap space to add either Love or Aldridge, the Rockets likely will move forward Terrence Jones during Thursday's NBA Draft. Houston would have to shed more payroll by not re-signing its free agents, including point guard Patrick Beverley.

Even with those cash-cutting moves, the Rockets probably won't have the cap space to fit a max deal with what Dwight Howard and James Harden are earning. But with the salary cap expected to rise dramatically next season with the new TV deal, the Rockets might be willing to pursue the possibility.
