Trade chips? Jazz potentially have 18 selections in next 5 NBA drafts

After four consecutive losses, many fans of the Jazz are beginning to speculate about any and all trade rumors that can make the team better.

Of course, Utah is losing while playing without injured center Rudy Gobert. Regardless, with so many rumors circulating, now's an appropriate time to at least look at what kind of pieces the Jazz are able to move for value. A recent story by Salt City Hoops provided some context as to what assets may be shipping out of Utah.

According to the report, Utah's core (Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors, Rudy Gobert, Dante Exum) are "not going anywhere" in a trade. Others (e.g. Rodney Hood, Tibor Pleiss) are also reportedly "probably" not going anywhere.

The biggest trade pieces for Utah are likely Trey Burke and Alec Burks -- both seem to find their names in trade rumors each season. This year, however, Utah has some sweetener they can add to any negotiation.

Salt City Hoops reports that Utah can have 18 picks in the next five NBA Drafts. That includes: their own five first round picks, their own five second round picks, a protected 1st from OKC (2018-20), unprotected 1st from Golden State (2017) and six extra second round picks in the next three drafts.

Utah's simply not going to draft 18 players in the next five years. Anticipate these assets to soon be on the move.
