Cam Newton, Josh Norman settle beef, enjoy team outing

It certainly appears that Cam Newton and Josh Norman have made peace or at the very least are well on their way to putting what occurred between them earlier this week in the proverbial rear view mirror.

Newton and Norman of course engaged in a brawl of sorts on Monday during a training camp practice, something that led to plenty of discussion regarding the potential fallout of such an incident.

But Norman has since posted a photograph to social media that makes it clear he and Newton are attempting to move on from their fight.

Newton already has downplayed what occurred, saying he has no regrets over the brawl, suggesting that the Panthers “are better because of it.” He even said there are “no hard feelings between anyone in the locker room, including Josh.”

It was Norman’s turn to follow suit.

The Panthers enjoyed a team outing for a movie on Tuesday night and Norman posted a photo to Twitter where he and Newton are seemingly having an enjoyable and peaceful time as opposed to engaging one another in battle.

In an expanded social media post, Norman wrote the following, making it clear that despite the fight, he “wouldn’t want to go into battle” with any other quarterback than Newton and how the quarterback is a true team leader.

The ugly incident between Newton and Norman was quickly overshadowed by an even uglier situation that played out in the New York Jets locker room on Tuesday between Geno Smith and IK Enemkpali. But that does not take away one bit of the gravity of what transpired between Newton and Norman, as even though training camp brouhahas happen all the time, it is a rare sight indeed to see a quarterback engaging in such shenanigans.

Still, it appears that all’s well that ends well as it concerns the Panthers. All parties have moved on and to hear it from Newton and Norman, not only have the two learned something from what happened, the team might be better for it.
