The Cincinnati Bengals are finding ways to hang with the Houston Texans after one half in Houston. The offense hasn’t been particularly good but limited mistakes has allowed the Bengals special teams to pin the Texans deep in their own territory and no momentum.

Andy Dalton is 15 for 24 for 111 yards, and has been sacked only once, but flushed a few times from the pocket. Cody Core has been the primary target for Dalton. He has seven receptions for 35 yards. Rex Burkhead has taken a number of carries to lead Hill with 17 yards on six carries.

The defense has been huge for this first half. Tom Savage is 2-7 for 13 yards. He has been sacked three times by a combination of Geno Atkins, Wallace Gilberry, and Michael Johnson. This defense is also containing the Texans run game with three tackles for loss. The Bengals have also hit Savage five times and the Texans have dropped two passes and the secondary has two pass deflections.

The Cincinnati Bengals have showed grit and grind through three quarters last week and will need to help out a depleted offense. If Andy Dalton can stay mistake free and the Bengals defense can force mistakes by Savage, they could play spoiler to the Texans playoff hopes for another week. If the Texans win, they clinch the AFC South.

The Bengals lead 3-0 heading into the second half. The Texans will head into the second half receiving the kickoff. Enjoy the second half and Who Dey.
