Cowboys LB Rolando McClain out vs Jets with concussion

Published Dec. 18, 2015 5:59 p.m. ET

IRVING, Texas (AP) Dallas linebacker Rolando McClain has been ruled out against the New York Jets on Saturday night because of a concussion, and cornerback Morris Claiborne is doubtful with a hamstring injury.

McClain didn't practice all week after reporting concussion symptoms following last weekend's loss to Green Bay. It will be the first game he has missed since starting the season on a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

The Cowboys activated cornerback Terrance Mitchell from the practice squad Friday with Claiborne unlikely to play. Claiborne has missed two games with hamstring and ankle issues.

Mitchell was a seventh-round pick by Dallas last year but was cut late in the preseason and spent most of his first two seasons with Chicago.
