Danny Amendola Red-Hot, Catches Another TD (Video)
There’s nothing the Miami Dolphins can do to stop the New England Patriots right now, and Danny Amendola is reaping the rewards.
Raise your hand if you started Julian Edelman in fantasy today. OK, that’s a lot of you. Now how many of you started Danny Amendola? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
Edelman leads the Patriots in receptions and receiving yards (big surprise), but Amendola’s two touchdowns have him in the fantasy lead.

The New England Patriots have dealt with life without Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski quite well. Martellus Bennett has his first touchdown reception as a member of the Patriots, and Jimmy Garoppolo already set a record for the most passing yards by a Patriots quarterback in the first quarter of a game in 15 years.
Basically, that means even Brady never had a first quarter as brilliant as Garoppolo’s.
Take a look at Amendola’s second touchdown reception above. Notice how Garoppolo throws off of an unbalanced platform; he doesn’t need your fancy mechanics to get the job done. Aside from that play, of course, Garoppolo has generally been fundamentally clean, and it is impressive to watch him navigate the pocket.
After that ten-yard TD toss to ‘Dola, the Patriots are up on the Dolphins 21-0 with no signs of slowing down. Jimmy G has a cool 14-for-17 line to his name, while Amendola has needed just three targets to notch his two TDs. Not a single target to Amendola has fallen incomplete, but the same can be said for Edelman, who is at six receptions for 69 yards.
It doesn’t matter who Garoppolo throws it to, because a completion seems almost inevitable at this stage. The Dolphins just have no answers for an undefeatable Patriots machine that may finally be able to boast an ability to withstand any pass-catching injury.
