Los Angeles Rams CB Trumaine Johnson Ruled Out Against New York Giants

Trumaine Johnson will miss his second-straight game for the Los Angeles Rams with an ankle injury.

With the way things have looked over the last two weeks, the Los Angeles Rams are going to need all of the help they can get on defense if they’re going to have any chance of winning Sunday’s game in London against the New York Giants.

Unfortunately, the Rams are going to have to adjust to playing without one of their top stars for the second straight week in Trumaine Johnson.

The star cornerback has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against New York as Los Angeles looks to get back on the winning track following two tough losses to the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions. Of course, if that’s going to have any chance of happening, the Rams are going to need all of the help they can get from E.J. Gaines and Troy Hill at cornerback.

When looking at all of the weapons the Giants have to work with in the passing game between Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard, the Rams’ defense will need to play at a much higher level than they did in Week 6 in which they allowed Matthew Stafford to throw for four touchdowns.

Not to mention, Beckham is coming off one of the best games of his career after catching eight passes for 222 yards to go along with two touchdowns.

It certainly won’t be easy to overcome the absence of Johnson squaring off against the Giants, but when looking at some of the opposing offenses this team has already shutdown this season in the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals, it’s certainly possible.

If not, at least the bye week after London will give Johnson extended time to recover from the injury with the potential to return in Week 9.
