WATCH: IK Enemkpali pancaked in Buffalo Bills debut

IK Enemkpali was very fortunate that the Buffalo Bills claimed him off waivers from the New York Jets. Bills Head Coach Rex Ryan is all about collecting players from his enemies and using them against those rivals.

Enemkpali knew his days as a Jet were over as soon as he punched quarterback Geno Smith in the jaw over a $600 debt, though some believe Smith might have deserved the sucker punch with the attitude he put on display in the locker room. Smith ended up with a broken jaw and is now out six to 10 weeks — almost destroying his chances at starting for New York.

But whether you believe Smith deserved the punch or not, Enemkpali still messed up and lost his temper. He probably set out to redeem himself with the Bills in their first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, but his Bills debut fell flat as a pancake.

It’s a little sad that a 261-pound linebacker was flattened by 210-pound wide receiver Brenton Bersin, and that’s just not okay. So he can swing freely on Smith in the heat of the moment, but on the field he gets knocked over by a wide receiver? Things just don’t add up there.
