WR Marquise Brown reportedly agrees to one-year deal with Chiefs
Wide receiver Marquise Brown has agreed to a deal worth up to $11 million with the Kansas City Chiefs, ESPN reported on Thursday.
The move provides quarterback Patrick Mahomes with another dynamic playmaker on offense. Chiefs receivers struggled with drops last season, and at age 26, Brown, a former first-round pick, is still a young, speedy receiver who can take the top off a defense.
Brown spent the past two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals after playing the first three seasons of his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens. Last season, he had 51 receptions for 574 yards and four touchdowns. He missed three games due to a heel injury.
Since being the 25th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by Baltimore, Brown has had an uneven career. His best season, and his only 1,000-yard receiving season to date, came in 2021, when he caught 91 passes for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns for the Ravens. Baltimore then traded Brown to Arizona, where he had 118 receptions for 1,283 yards in two years.
