Blackhawks' Anisimov on being stationed in front of net: 'It's fun playing there'

Chicago Blackhawks forward Artem Anisimov doesn't mind getting his hands dirty. In fact, the 27-year-old admitted he has fun doing so.

Anisimov scored his third goal in as many contests on Sunday as Chicago skated to a 3-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators. The tally was far from picture perfect, but the 6-foot-4 Anisimov offered no excuses after cleaning up a loose puck following defenseman Michal Rozsival's shot from the circle before tapping it home.

Via CSN Chicago:

"It's fun playing there. Most of the goals (are) scored from the net area, and I just try to go there and I have two great wingers who can make plays. I try to create space for them, go to the net, take away the goalie's eyes and good things can happen."

Good things continued to happen for Anisimov on Sunday, as he swatted home a rebound from the edge of the crease at 6:01 of the third period.

Anisimov's 15 goals this season rank second behind linemate Patrick Kane (23) for the team lead and are just seven shy of his career-best season, set in 2013-14 with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The veteran also has seven assists for 22 points with the Blackhawks (23-13-4), who look to extend their winning streak to four games on Tuesday when they open a home-and-home series versus the host Pittsburgh Penguins.
