Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford starts a brawl after collision at net

St. Louis Blues forward Robby Fabbri ran into Corey Crawford in the crease during Tuesday night's Game 4, and the Chicago Blackhawks goalie wasn't having it.

Crawford immediately came out of the net and chased Fabbri to the boards behind the net and started throwing punches.

For the record, Crawford's 6-foot-2 and 208 pounds, decidedly bigger than the 5-10, 180-pound Fabbri. But Fabbri's also 11 years younger and didn't have all that ridiculous goalie gear to contend with.

The scrum between the two didn't last long, but it sparked a brawl between both teams once the other players saw what was going on.

When all was said and done, Fabbri was assessed an interference penalty and Crawford got a minor roughing penalty. Two other Blues players and one Blackhawks player received minor roughing penalties, meaning the Blackhawks wound up with a power play after the exchange.

Duncan Keith scored on the ensuing power play to give the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead, but the Blues skated away with a 4-3 victory in a game that wound up marred by controversy when it appeared Blackhawks star Andrew Shaw yelled a gay slur from the penalty box.

The Blues lead the first-round series 3-1.
