Boston Bruins Give Update On Matt Beleskey
The Boston Bruins released an update on forward Matt Beleskey after the B’s defeated the Florida Panthers 4-3 in overtime.

The Boston Bruins have had a tough go of it with injuries this season. At the end of Monday’s game between the Bruins and the Florida Panthers, the Bruins organization announced an update on the status of forward Matt Beleskey. Now the Bruins have to make a few changes to their forward lines so they can make things happen without Beleskey for the immediate future. The Bruins announced that Beleskey’s lower-body injury will take him out of action for the next six weeks.
Beleskey sustained the injury during the Bruins game against the Buffalo Sabres. The Bruins were able to win that game 2-1. Here’s the rest of the bad news from the Boston Bruins website:
“Beleskey, 28, has skated in 24 games with Boston in 2016-17, producing two goals and three assists for five points with 23 penalty minutes. In 2015-16 – his first season with the Bruins – Beleskey appeared in a career-high 80 games, recording 15 goals and 22 assists for a career-best 37 points with 65 penalty minutes and a plus-six rating.
Beleskey skated in 65 games for the Anaheim Ducks in 2014-15, posting a career-high 22 goals (third on team), while adding 10 assists for 32 points. In 16 postseason games in 2015, Beleskey ranked second in goal-scoring for Anaheim, potting a career-best eight goals and adding one assist.
In his 8-year NHL career, the 6-foot, 204-pound winger has skated in 433 games, compiling 74 goals and 80 assists for 154 points with 390 penalty minutes. In 34 career playoff contests, Beleskey has registered 13 goals and four assists for 17 points with 16 penalty minutes.
The Windsor, Ontario native was originally selected by Anaheim in the fourth round (112 overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.”
Thankfully, the Boston Bruins got back their captain back. Zdeno Chara played a decent game against the Panthers in his first game back since missing six games with his lower-body injury.
